This section of the Mattatuck is easy and popular. It mainly meanders through swamp lands and along ponds. This is the kind of trail I would take my mother on for a nature walk. It is a great place to get away for some quiet outdoor time. There are plenty of parking lots and restrooms at a nature center. You will share the trail with bikes and horseback riders - so be attentive.
